Karma & The Non Dual View
It is important to understand that looking for freedom from problems is not the way; it is the one who has the problems that we must examine, because it is only freedom from the conditioned mind that will finally give real relief. When the conditioned mind loses its grip over us, we experience the Love, Freedom and Awareness that we are and in the light of our true nature; all the problems arising out of ignorance cease to inflict suffering on us.
The same old situations, people, conditions, beliefs, experiences are transformed in a mirror in which we see our reflection in these outer appearances and we respond to them from the view of oneness, that they are truly a part of us mirroring our own mind. As a result, when we naturally cease to blame “others”, because we no longer see them as being outside of ourselves, our resistance to “them”, dies on the vine. We gain a more spacious perspective that changes everything. As we become grounded in this view of the absolute, our former protective stance relaxes and we cease to attract resistance at every junction. Life experiences, both the pleasant and the unpleasant, can now pass through without judgment and automatic unconscious resistance. And with the quiet strength of this non-judgmental awareness, our challenges begin to clear and we fulfill our purpose with much more poise and grace.
By perceiving existence with the awareness that our life is like an ocean full of karmic memory that does not have any real substance, that it is only a projected effect produced by the ego’s illusory identification resulting from a belief in ignorance, we can now enjoy it as the movie it is. When something is not real, there is no need for us to accumulate it and allow it to occupy space in our mind and in our life. Thus, understanding the illusion of Karma, identifying and completing it, becomes all the more important for us unless we want to perpetuate our suffering.
And we need to realize that unconsciously, perpetuating suffering is exactly what the ego wants us to do, because it makes the ego feel more real. As a compilation of thoughts of who we think we are, a mere mental habit, it is not real. Think for a moment: When you are in bliss does ego exist? ……………Think of those special moments in your life when you felt at one with everything, when you were in bliss. Was ego present? ………………………………………. Exactly!
It was not. And ego does not, not want to exist! It is like a phantom that controls our mind through lifetimes of repetition. To end the illusion of Karma is to end our perception of duality, our ego based subject/object relationship with reality, our ignorance and our suffering, the prime reasons behind our lack of fulfillment and success.
Through each Karma Completion program, as you gain a stronger foundation in Non-Dual Awareness, it is not merely a conceptual understanding that you gain; there are tangible effects that you can see in every area of your life as your entire perception changes.
