Karma: What Most People Don’t Understand…
Notice if either of the following describe your experience:
Do you ever feel like your life is a constant challenge to try to maintain your equilibrium? You struggle to keep your head above water financially, spiritually or in relationships? Are you overwhelmed by the challenges that you are attracting in your life? Perhaps you have worked with various methods and even gained some level of success. Yet still, obstacles arise which block your progress and make you feel frustrated? Somehow happiness and contentment just seem to elude you…..
You are finished with self - improvement workshops. You have taken 5, 10 or 20 programs and nothing has fundamentally changed. Spent hours and hard earned cash, but no palpable shift. Your room is full of self-help books; you are busy all the time, but your life still feels empty. Satisfaction just doesn’t seem to enter your vocabulary. The bottom line is, somehow deep down, doubt remains and you still think you need to learn more survival strategies?
In the first scenario this person is missing a realistic perspective on life: They are hooked on the desire for happiness which, due to the nature of the relative world, is elusive at best, due to the fact that we all experience both positive and negative karma at any given time in accordance with our own past actions. The only thing that brings peace and contentment is a different understanding of life.
In other words, what we need to understand, is that our negative karma can hit us at any time totally unexpectedly. Because outer happiness is ephemeral and whatever circumstances arise in our experience are all generated by our own mind due to karma, we are responsible for what we attract. Our only common sense choice is to accept that responsibility (more easily said than done due to our habit to identify as a victim and blame everything and everyone else for our problems), and develop radical acceptance of everything that life brings as our own creation, and do the needful. By doing so we don’t take others or our circumstances personally and we effectively take our power back; a new contentment grows as we take both the negative and positive in stride. Karma Completion helps you integrate this new perspective on life in a way that it truly sinks in. It changes your life in a practical manner so that you feel true contentment at the core of your being.
In the second scenario, the person who is fed up with little palpable change after so much effort, also fails to have a true perspective of reality. This person is consumed by the ego’s addiction to wanting to know more things (especially more survival skills). But the crux of the matter, is that ego can never have a clear conscious discernment of what appropriate action to take in any given moment, no matter how much “it knows”, because it can only ever perceive things from what it knows from the past. As a mental construct, it is incapable of perceiving things in the present, as things actually are. It can only see through its filters. Thus due to our identification with ego, we often make bad choices.
The ego, which by definition is only a compilation of thoughts of what we think we are, is essentially empty, as it has no substance. Yet due to the repetition of its own karmic patterns lifetime after lifetime, it has taken on a life force of its own which is what makes it feel so real. Similar to the storage of karmic memory which attracts all of your experience, ego’s sole purpose is to provide a mental structure based on that same unconscious past experience, to help you survive in the world.
The problem is, the ego’s unconscious reactions are often faulty, as no two situations are truly alike. What happened in the past that is similar to your present circumstance, is not the same. And yet the trouble is, ego can only ever guess about the myriad of possibilities of what you “should” do, because on the deepest level it is incapable of perceiving things simply as they are. As the awareness that you truly are, however, which is beyond ego, you always know what to do in any given moment. You only have to be able to notice its hidden voice to make the appropriate choice. And the Karma Completion program can help you bring that voice out of the closet.
